Right now poison oak has a verdant quality that makes it almost attractive—that is if it weren't for its more obnoxious qualities. If you haven't gotten it, it's only because you haven't gotten it yet. Play with it enough and you will.

There are only two classes of people: those who get poison oak and those who haven't gotten it yet.

Later in the spring or early fall you'll begin to see the poison oak turning red and by late summer most of it will look much more like this.

Eventually, the leaves will fall away, with only the branches and small white fruit balls left behind. Beware—these will make you itch as well. if you get poison oak, you'll get it from most any part of it.
